Excellent oversized Mammoth Mallard drake by the Evans Decoy Company of Ladysmith, Wisconsin. Circa 1930. This factory was only in existence from 1927 to 1932. The decoy is in strong original paint with minor gunning wear and excellent structural condition. The paint on Evans Decoys began to wear as soon as they were put into service. Walter Evans used inexpensive paints that were not durable making this decoy with minor wear, an exceptionally rare find. This decoy was just found in a hunting rig in Central Wisconsin and is fresh to the market.
