Premier Mallard Drake Duck Decoy by the famous Mason Decoy Company of Detroit Michigan. Circa 1910. The decoy is in excellent original paint and has Mason’s best “Snakey Head” styling. It is in excellent structural condition. The paint is strong with minor wear overall with lots of thick brush strokes and feathering. The bill is extremely well carved and quite long. The tail has had a tail chip restoration by the nation’s leading decoy restorer Paul Fortin. Fortin is known for his ability and attention to detail in the faithful and accurate restoration of many of the best decoys in collections and museums today. This is the way the decoy came out of the marsh after the last day it was hunted over 100 years ago. If you are searching for a good original Mason that is in excellent condition, this is the bird for you.
