Great pair of Illinois River Mallard duck decoys by famous contemporary carver Jim Slack. These hunting grade decoys are hollow two-piece construction in excellent original paint. Each decoy has been carved and painted by hand just like the traditional carvers did at the turn of the century. The exceptional paint has detailed feathering and combing. The bills have detailed nail carving. They are 17” in length and 8” tall. The hen is a rare "Preener" with it's head turned back. Both decoys have their original keel weights and are marked “JHS Maker”. These are a matched pair of rig mates and would be a great addition to any collection. You will not be disappointed with these beautiful hunting grade decoys.
