These are vintage Snowshoes made by the Snowcraft Company of Norway, Maine.
They were discovered in their original packing in a government warehouse in 1994 where they had been stored for 51 years.They were used by the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division for winter training in central Wisconsin in preparation for winter combat in Europe.They are marked with Army serial numbers and carry the date of 1943. They are 56” Long x 10 ½” Wide.
They have a wonderful patina they have acquired with age and are in excellent unused condition.They and are a great item to hang on the wall of your home or cottage with some interesting provenance to add to their appeal.
